• Terrible customer service

  I bought suit carrier on thursday, as i got it home i tried one of the zips and it immediately came apart. I returned it today (monday) as i could not take it back over the weekend. The shop assistant said he could fix and and immediately reached under the desk to retrieve a set of pliers. I set i would prefer a replacement or a refund but as they did not have any of the same in stock i asked for a refund. The shop assirtant said he could not do that and proceeded to work the zip with his pliers. I continued to ask for a refund to which he just ignored me. I stated my statutory rights to which he said that it wasn't broken as he could fix it with his pliers. I asked to speak to the manager but he wasn't in until 11, he then became quite aggressive and so i said i'd return at 11. I returned after about an hour and after consulting the internet for the sale of goods act, the manager was much more helpful and they had just had a delivery of the item but i explained that due to the previous experience an hour earlier i would prefer my money back and to take my business elsewhere. The manager then turned on the defensive and became very suspicious and asked me if i had intentionally broke the zip, i stood my grouind and told him that it was a faulty product and i wanted my money back. He put through the transaction but he did not apologise and he made me feel that i was in the wrong. Terrible customer service! i then went to house of fraser and there happened to be a half price sale on a better quality product.
