  • 3 A nice warmup venue for a night out

I have been here half a dozen times on club nights. Jongleurs was host to the University Sports society nights for one academic year so I found myself going there fairly often. The drinks are fairly cheap, everytime I have been in they have cocktail menus out but are never serving them. Excuses range from how they don't have the ingredients, or because the resident cocktail maker isn't in.The 1st floor is a bar with a small dancefloor at the back which is almost always empty save a few brave people. The upper floor is the comedy stage which also doubles as a small dance floor with its own bar as well. I have never been to the venue to watch a comedy act.On nights where it isn't a student night Jongleurs is always fairly empt yand fairly quite. They have nice lounge chairs if you want to have a chat with friends before moving onto some of the bigger Clubs out there.Sometimes entry is free, and sometimes you have to pay. I wouldn't bother paying entry, might as well go into a nearby pub

  • 2 Ok night out but don't eat there!

The location is really good, very central in a street with other pubs and places to eat. Comedy was fairly good, we saw 3 stand up acts with an interval in the middle. Food was really poor for the price, rock hard garlic break, greasy chiken wings etc. Certainly wouldn't eat there again. The bar closes during the acts so make sure you get your drinks before they start or during the interval. The drinks are also pretty pricy. Overall if you're looking for a good night out, give this place a try as it makes a change from clubbing, just eat somewhere else beforehand!!

  • 3 Reasonable night out

Went a couple of years back and havent been since. It was a reasonable night out although a couple of things to fault about it. The acts were generally funny and obviously arent big names or anything but there were some awkward pauses. Make sure you dont stand out either as you are liable to get picked on! Drinks were very pricey and the bar wasnt open during the acts which meant that you had to plan ahead and make sure everyone had a drink. Overall a good night out but dont expect too much and take plenty of cash for drinks!
