Computer Repair and Maintenance Services in Bristol
I have had a bad experience at the Clifton/Bristol branch. I brought my laptop for repair as it was not starting up. After a quick unfruitful check, the employee asked me to leave the laptop for a more thorough investigation. Two hours later, he leaves a message on my voice mail saying that the main board was faulty and that the cost for replacing it would be £200.00 - £250.00 + £55.00 labour. Based on that, I decided not to go ahead with the repairs and went to collect my laptop on the way home after work. When I came to the branch, I was told the laptop hasn't been reassembled, so I returned the following day at which point I was asked to pay the £35.00 diagnostics fees as agreed. I paid and took the laptop home just to keep for parts for the future. It would have been the end of the story if I haven't tried for the last time to start the computer in the evening. I turned it on, got the same "error message" as before but I left it alone for a while and that's when a "miracle" happened: The computer came to life which meant that, first of all, the main board cannot be faulty but more importantly that the employee has not been able to diagnose the fault properly (if there was one) or may not have even carried out any checks at all to justify the £35.00 charge. When I asked for the fee to be dropped a few days later, I was told with an impolite tone, that they stand by their diagnosis and that the fault might be intermittent !?!?! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE OR TRUST THEM FOR FUTURE WORK ON MY IT EQUIPMENT. I HAVE DOUBTS AS TO THEIR COMPETENCE AND BASED ON THIS FIRST AND CERTAINLY LAST DEALING WITH THEM, THE COSTUMER SERVICE IS FAR FROM BEING SATISFACTORY.
